Lampropoulou Magda

My artwork aims to communicate how I experience life on a personal level, body and mind, capturing these personal experiences through the use of diverse expressive mediums (sculpture, installation, audio, video, performance) and a combination of various disparate materials.

My art functions as a channel to communicate life experiences which are hard to confess and are methodically revealed in a manner escalating the works’ structure- what starts out as a therapeutic confession that brings relief on a personal level is subsequently transformed into a social issue. With an emphasis on the prejudices and moral values imposed by a given society, I create works with a social content that transform silent acceptance into an explicit statement. Inviting audiences to participate in my artwork, both through diffusion and active participation, often in a playful manner, I aim to identify, reveal and decry social taboos and stereotypes.
