young performers repertoire
education, training & workshops

There is not a sufficient repertoire of innovative, new music for children aged 6 -10. The INTERFACES network will commission eight young international composers, or more, to compose works for commonly played instruments and/or chamber music groups.

The aim of this action is to develop a contemporary idiom repertoire for young performers aged between 6-10 years old. The idea is to commission new works that will inspire young musicians to explore the sonorities and techniques of contemporary music, whilst remaining well within their physical capabilities.
The works will be added to the repertoire taught at music schools or within the music classes of schools where feasible, and the process will be documented. The culmination of the project will be concerts of this new repertoire given in several locations. The scores will be licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.
